It’s been a crazy few days for us TV addicts. All of our favorite fall shows are coming back and there are many time conflicts!

Super Slim Laptop Backpack

After lugging my laptop bag around with me at BlogHer, I can honestly say that I’d sacrifice style for convenience.

Many people lug their laptops around with them by using a shoulder bag. This is wrong for so many reasons. Not only is it uncomfortable, but think about what it’s doing to your neck, shoulder and back muscles?! Don’t forget, the bigger the bag the more likely you are to fill it up.

Verizon discontinues SMS delivery confirmations

Has anyone else with Verizon noticed that they’re no longer receiving text message confirmations? (You know, the letter D or little green check mark that appears next to the message.) It’s not a feature I use that much anymore, but I’m not sure how I feel about Verizon silently killing it.

Discontinuation of the service reportedly started on September 9th on a regional basis and all regions should see the service gone by the end September. According to the word on the forums, the service was stopped in order to reduce network traffic. For every text message sent, Verizon had to send out the text message data to the recipient and then send back the data with the status information to the sender.

I really hope that Verizon isn’t discontinuing it only to have to become an add-on feature for data plans in the future. Not only is the feature dispensable, it’s not worth paying for.

Password Reminder Book

I came across the Password Reminder Book on Geek Sugar the other day, and at first I was like, “Must have,” but after thinking about it a bit more, I realized that this is actually a pretty bad idea.

I like the idea of having all of my passwords in one place. I can’t even remember how many passwords I have anymore. This seems like a great way to remember them and never lose them. But what if you do lose them?! What if someone finds the book? It’s a bad day just waiting to happen.

The book itself is cute, which is why I would probably buy it if I saw it in a store. I would have to lock it up in my small safe with the rest of my “valuables” though.

How do you keep track of all your online accounts and passwords?

Twitterberry, Twibble and Tiny Twitter

A while ago I was asked if there were other Twitter applications floating around for the Blackberry. Twitterberry, while nice, limits some of the fun you can have using Twitter. For example, my biggest pet peeve with it is that you can only view the last 20 or so tweets. After that the screen just stops scrolling and you’ve missed out on some greatness.

Recently Crackberry introduced Twibble. One of Twibble’s best features is auto update. It can be set to automatically retreieve tweets which cuts down on the clicking you used to do with Twitterberry. You can also add your GPS location to your tweets if you’re into that sort of stalk-ability.

Some other features:
* post messages via your mobile network (WiFi, UMTS, GPRS), or using text messages (SMS).
* auto refresh: twibble can retrieve tweets automatically after a given time period.
* optimized to generate as little data traffic as possible. Only new tweets are fetched to reduce data traffic.
* integrated timeline: Tweets and direct messages are displayed in a
single list sorted by date. There is no need to retrieve tweets and
direct messages separately or to switch between various lists.
* open web links contained in a tweet (via phone browser).
* re-tweet (forward) of tweets.With a few clicks you can re-send a tweet you received without re-typing.
* quick @replies
* you can add friends
* mark tweets as favorites: Useful on the road when you want to mark a tweet for later reading.
* cancel network requests (twibble is multi threaded)

How Amazon can help you find cheap ink

One of my least favorite tasks as a computer user is printing. I have a printer at home, but you’d never know it. Currently it is sitting on the floor of my closet because for the last 3-5 months it has been out of ink. Because I’d rather spend my money on more important things (i.e. food, IKEA and Wii games – see, my priorities are straight) I haven’t been in a rush to go buy ink.

Ink is effing expensive. Not only that, but whenever I do consider buying it, I either forget what kind of printer I have or I find something else I want and honestly I can’t afford both. What’s more important? $35 for a new DVD set or some ink?!

All you have to do is select your printer manufacturer and the model, and Amazon will do all of the dirty work for you. Increase your Blackberry’s memory

So my Blackberry finally decided I was overworking it and deleted a bunch of my emails and texts. Receiving 16+ emails while asleep will do that to an already over-stuffed phone.

This reminded me of a great piece of advice I read (and wrote about) a couple of months ago. Clean out your cache! I browse the web a lot via Blackberry. I haven’t cleaned out the cookies or cache since I got this phone.

That has changed today! Have you deleted your cookies and cache lately? Are you losing texts, emails, etc? Phone running slowly? Clean em out!!!

Open up your BB browser and press the menu key > select options > cache operations > clear history and clear cookies.

For those of you using Opera Mini, start the browser and press the menu key > select settings > scroll down to the bottom and select Clear cookies.

This should free some memory on your phone. My best recommendation is to purchase (at least) a 2GB memory card.
